Kresta in the Afternoon – October 22, 2021 – Hour 2

What would John Paul II say if we asked him what to look for in our next pope? We talk with George Weigel.

What would JPII say if we asked him to pick the next pope?

Today we are celebrating the feast of John Paul II. There’s no doubt that he is one of the most influential church figures of our time and he had an enormous effect on the church and world of the last 100 years. But what about the next 100 years – and beyond? Suppose the College of Cardinals asked John Paul II for advice on picking the next pope – what would he say? We’ll talk about it with George Weigel.

George Weigel is Distinguished Senior Fellow and William E Simon Chair in Catholic Studies at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. He’s the author of many books including Witness to Hope, the Next Pope and Evangelical Catholicism and most recently edited Jesuit at Large: Essays and Reviews by Paul Mankowski
